Was born in Houston, Texas. He was always drawn to the sound and beauty of music and fortunately, as a young man Mott his family moved to the Kashmere Gardens area of Houston where a band director, the name Mr. Conrad O Johnson was busy working on what would become a history-making high school band as documented in the film, produced by Jamie Fox called “Thunder Soul.”

Mr. Perkins, was awarded a scholarship to Bishop College, in Dallas Texas, as a result of his exceptional performance, playing the clarinet. Mr. Perkins studied Music for 2 years prior to enlisting into the United States Navy.

Once Mr. Perkins completed his military service he resumed his college studies thereby receiving an Associate of Science Degree from LongBeach City College and an Electronic Music Certificate from the University of California Los Angeles.

Mr. Perkins, is currently living in California with his wife and family, where he continues to write and produce smooth jazz music, Released on his independent record label Millennium 7 Records.
